Niger School Fire: 20 children Die In Maradi School Fire
According to unsubstantiated claims on social media, at least twenty students have been killed in a fire that broke out at a school in the African nation of Niger. On Monday, the horrifying event is reported to have taken place in the city of Maradi.
Adults and children can be seen congregating around the site of the fire in photographs shot at the scene, where smoke can be seen rising from the ground. According to rumours circulating on social media, the fire broke out in a preschool or kindergarten.
To this day, it has not been determined what started the fire, and there has been no official confirmation of the cause. The claimed catastrophe took place only a few short months after 20 students were killed in a fire at another school located on the outskirts of Niamey, the capital of Niger.
